The deadline to enter five prestigious healthcare awards is looming.
Diabetes teams are being encouraged to submit an entry to the Celebrating DESMOND awards by Friday, August 11.
The awards will recognise those DESMOND providers who have gone above and beyond to deliver a five-star service.
Delivered by the Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC), DESMOND is a national education programme dedicated to providing support and self-management tools for those with, or at risk of, type 2 diabetes, and other long-term conditions.
The categories are:
The Deirdre McGowan Educator of the Year – Shows an outstanding commitment to the DESMOND philosophy and principles and makes a difference to the lives of people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes
Team of the Year – Delivering high-quality education to people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes
Innovation – Develops and tests new innovative ideas in their DESMOND service
Impact – Can show a meaningful impact on the lives of people with or at risk of type 2 diabetes, and has quantitative as well as qualitative evaluation to quantify their impact
Excellence – Tell us about how you/your colleague/s have gone above and beyond at some point in or throughout the last 24 months. How have you/they been exemplary in what they have done or achieved?
The judges are looking for imaginative applications, so submissions could be in video or audio format.
